Welcome to Las Descargues
Our traditional Haute Quercy farmhouse gîte is situated in the hamlet of Las Descargues at the end of a warm, south-west facing ridge overlooking the Bave Valley between St Céré and Figeac in the Lot.
Built in 1748, some forty years before the French Revolution it's a house full of character and fascinating structures all retained and preserved during a sympathetic restoration of the property. There are large oak beams, weathered limestone and granite walls almost one metre thick, inglenook fireplaces you can sit in and a bread oven you can't.
The area is a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast and for those with an interest in natural history, with butterflies and moths, beetles, birds, flowers, in fact wildlife in profusion in a mosaic of unspoilt natural habitats.
We provide comfortable gîte accommodation for families seeking the freedom to do their own thing or we can structure a holiday to meet the needs of those with an interest in the wildlife of this beautiful part of France.
